Milano clown festival
Oddpeople is a journey through people. An exploration of the "meeting" imagery that focuses on the multitude, on the meeting-goers. People want to look at themselves anddo nothing else than look for themselves. The mission of Oddpeople is to mingle with the others. What we try to tell are human samples, the company of actors of a social moment. By cataloguing and witnessing the shapes and habits of a series of individuals that choose to recognize themselves in a certain social group. No matter if the roots of these common cultures are music, wine, politics, drugs, or else. What remains is a precious story about what binds us today and bound us in the past, about how these tribes change and evolve continuously, about how, from this perpetual change, new criterions, admittance rituals, new styles and new characters rise that have to be added to the gallery. The eccentricity and colour, passion and history of each individual, led us far away but also just behind the corner. In this case we met the microcosm of clowns, where seriousness is hardly admitted. Men dressed up like women, women with heavy make up and funny wigs. There is nothing like the Milano Clown Festival to catch odd profiles. In a few years it has become a reference point not only for artists, but also for the audience. Every year many artists from all over the world find shelter in the heart of a grey Milan. We took advantage of such an occasion to steal some smiles and funny poses. The bright colours of their clothes and their make-up doze off in the background of the rarefied winter of Milan and mellow-grained snapshots give the last touch of magic. Everything seems to mingle and to offer fairy-tale images, hard to set in any neighbourhood in Milan. A dream landscape, between fancy and reality, routine and game.
