Dentro nuove alterazioni

Crisis as movement and transformation of the person. An intimate work on the change. Panta rei, as the philosopher would say.

Krisis is here interpreted as the breaking point that separates one's identity from another, different one. Krisis is choice and transformation of the individual. Overcoming a state to get to another. Through photography, the attempt is to represent the change.

The subjects were asked to stage their change, sometimes real, sometimes just emotional.

The portrayed subjects chose the poses, the location, the key elements, the lights and the shadows. Among the various shots, they have also chosen the most representative. The shutter has been lowered to about 15 seconds. At that juncture, the subject had to represent the initial state, then the final. The path from one state to another, the chaos between the two states, was represented by a trail of light, whom the subject was mastering. During the long photo sessions, the atmosphere has repeatedly switched from tense and starred to spontaneous. As small goal was approaching, joy has made forget fatigue and bloom more energy.

The premise of the work is that intimate research and personal walks of life lead people to constantly move from one state to another, in a passage that can be faster or slower, more or less troubled. Sometimes only thanks to own strengths and struggles, sometimes just with own will, and other times at the mercy of events, people are faced with choices, they start from a situation and strain toward another one, which will be more or less stable, better or worse. In this project the change is put under observation.

Some shots were preceded by long conversations, others were the result of lightning ideas; yet all of them created a synergy of thought between author and subject, which has culminated with moments of sharing that have enriched both.

Stories and adventures are intertwined: they are all different and various, but they all have the same recurring elements: crisis, choice, transformation, fatigue.
