To me, taking pictures has always been a way to collect visual notes on reality and in particular on what is my perception of reality. Reality, together with the emotions and visual sensibility of the photographer blend and create a unique and personal interpretation. The peculiarity of photography lies within its evocative power rather than within its narrative power. In fact, although my work is focused on different stories, they have always found their expression in the form of a diary, through which you find recurring themes such as death, sexuality and the moral and formal decadence of modern society.
Dorothea Lange used to say that the camera is only an instrument that indicates how one should look at reality without it. In my work, I often photograph elements that lie before our eyes, and I try to overcome collective blindness to express the restless marvel of reality, the esthetic folly and the emotional fascination within me.
