Mán – ménos – manus
From the Indo-European root to the Greek and Latin word, the meaning of those few letters take us from the verb “to know”, to the word “man” and up to “hand”, the tool we use everyday to accomplish most of our actions.
This photographic service was born exactly from the will of saying something about the men and women of Milan through one specific image: the picture of their hands.

A journey along the streets of the city, meeting people who work on them. People belonging to different classes and different ethnicities, but sharing a common feature: being human.
What do their fingers tell us? And their palms? Can we try to read them, as if we were chiromancer? In this case, though, our crystal ball is the camera objective and the future is written in just one image, in a simple still picture.

* “mani” in italian means “hands”
